Stz1520 next tech came by today and using the previous tech’s notes, set-up a new tuning adapter and cable card, and I am now happily receiving all channels with six working tuners on my Tivo. I know that the STA required a firmware update several years ago when TiVo first came out with the 6-tuner Roamios. Getting a different tuning adapter from Charter to try out might not be a bad idea. However, as it turns out, the local office incorrectly processed my equipment exchange and the old adapter was still on there which messed up my account so that cisxo new equipment would activate.
When I first got my TiVo, the tuning adapter simply wouldn’t work. I asked about the number of tuners the STA supports, and he said it only supports four, even sta15520 after looking through the diagnostic screens, I clearly saw that there were six tuners enumerated and the firmware was up to date.
This is all over the TiVo community forums, but in case you missed it I’ll say it here. All in all, nothing that even constitutes a small morsel of our TV diet, and chances are even if our Tuning Adapter totally failed, we’d never notice or miss those channels.
